More Gunshow.

I was in the Guelph Library today and made the mistake of looking at my new favorite comic. I laughed so loudly, most people stopped their conversations, shouldered their coffees, pencil cased their writing utensils and gave me the cock eye....

I have now officially commandeered this blog and am patiently waiting for a mutinous rebellion...

I'd pay top dollar for this.  Yep, that's just a hoodie - but it's bananas.  The only place I can find this is  Superhero Stuff... but they're sold out.  Of course they are.

Disney buys Marvel Entertainment Inc. for a cool $4 billion dollars.

donaldwolverine

The Walt Disney empire is to buy the superheroes stable Marvel Entertainment for $4bn (£2.5bn) in a star-studded Hollywood deal that unites family names such as Mickey Mouse with lucrative characters including Spider-Man, the Incredible Hulk and the X-Men.

Disney hopes to put Marvel's 5,000 characters to work on its television channels and in video games, theme parks and movies. The agreed takeover is for a mixture of cash and stock, with Disney shares accounting for roughly 40% of the buyout price.

The tie-up unites two companies with similar business models – they both take characters which capture the popular imagination and promote them vigorously around the world on every possible media platform and through third-party licensing deals.

Vulcan, Vishnu, and Cat Rackham.

cr-comfort-005VnV013

The long-form webcomic is a rare species. The unfinished Vulcan and Vishnu chronicle "the travels and travails of two honest workmen devising their way around obstacles and through calamities on their way to fortune and glory". The simplicity of the artwork compliments the elegance of their solutions. Cat Rackham, on the other hand, just can't win. And doesn't want to talk about it.
